Whatever is in your hand is your primary self defense tool. The Tactikey makes your house key a functional small self-defense tool because it can be in your hand without giving away the fact that you have a non-lethal self-defense tool already deployed.
The company recommends you grip the key in between your fingers so you can punch with it. If your train regularly you may find it easy to incorporate this into your skills set. People who do not regularly train in martial arts or self defense or do not practice punching or do not feel comfortable punching may find it difficult to use as prescribed.
A great alternative grip is to pinch the key between your index finger and thumb the same way you would hold it to unlock your doors. The “Key Grip” provides a strong, stable grip for multiple angles and types of strikes. You can be very accurate if you need it to poke or scratch an attacker’s eyes ,face, throat, and groin. A good scratch or gouge on any of those soft targets could buy you time and space to break contact and get away.
It’s always better to keep the attacker out of arm’s reach so you can run. Unfortunately we have moments of distraction throughout the day, even when we know we should be paying attention to our surroundings. Ambush attacks take away your ability to see a bad guy coming in time to run or deploy long range weapon like mace or a firearm.
The Tactikey is a small self defense tool that can serve as a last line of defense in close quarters or indoors as an alternative to mace. With the Tactikey you won’t have pepper spray blowing back in your face. Its small size makes it ideal for in close fighting when you are grabbed or picked up off the ground.
Tactikey even makes a sharpened Kwikset Blank you can cut for use as a regular key. Now your sharpened self defense keys are already in your hand allowing you to strike at will.
I highly recommend keeping one of these on your keychains on the key you use everyday. When you pull your keys out and see the Tacktikey it serves as a reminder to be aware of your surroundings and be ready to strike back if necessary.
